Materials That Will Protect Your House From The Weather

The weather is a factor that anyone who wants to build or remodel their home should take into account. Therefore, here we present you some materials that were designed to combat aspects related to temperature which will help to reduce the rate to cleanup of water damage. There are different origins and prices for you to consider when applying for your credit with a mortgage broker.

Insulating Materials

Homes should always be planned to insulate from extreme weather outside. That is, if it is hot out, the interior must be cool, and if the street is at very low temperatures, inside, there must be a thermal shelter. This will only be achieved with the choice of one or some of the following materials that are quintessential insulators:

Plastic Fibres: they come from materials derived from petroleum and are very effective in transmitting heat. The main quality of plastic fibres is that thick layers are not needed for it to be insulating. Its specific function is to immobilize dry air and to have adequate temperature control inside the home.

Unicel: it is used as thermal insulation in some facades, on ceilings and floors. It has true compression resistance, in addition to being lightweight, reducing costs and facilitating the construction of properties.

Fiberglass: It began to be commercialized in the last century and gained popularity thanks to its attribute of being insulating. This material became, as it were, the substitute for asbestos when it was found to be highly toxic and carcinogenic. The fibreglass blocks trap air between them, allowing it to have low thermal conductivity.

Thermal And Acoustic Insulation

Polyurethane: it is used for different purposes, among which are thermal and acoustic insulation. In addition, it can be used as filler for spaces that have to be insulated and also to make the air conditioning system of a room or building more efficient since it prevents air filtration and removes moisture. The only downside is that it is not a recyclable material.

Mineral Wool: it is produced from volcanic rock. Also, it is used as a thermal insulator and as a passive fire protector. Its fibre structure allows you to store air inside. Furthermore, its low thermal conductivity allows it to isolate both high and low temperatures and is considered an acoustic absorber.
